Newcastle United continued their impressive home form against Burnley, securing a 2-0 victory at St James’ Park. The win extended their unbeaten streak in Premier League meetings with Burnley to seven games. The Magpies took the lead in the 14th minute, thanks to a thunderous strike from Miguel Almirón. Despite Burnley’s attempts to equalize, Newcastle remained dominant throughout the match. Alexander Isak sealed the victory with a penalty in the 76th minute, securing his third goal in as many games.

The match started with Burnley showing promise, as Zeki Amdouni forced Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope into action. However, it was Newcastle who took control of the game. Kieran Trippier dispossessed Aaron Ramsey and set up Almirón for a stunning goal into the top corner.

Newcastle continued to press for a second goal before halftime, with Isak coming close but failing to capitalize on the rebound. Burnley’s Elliot Anderson was denied his first-ever Newcastle goal by James Trafford’s quick reactions, and Connor Roberts cleared the ball off the line to keep the scoreline narrow.

In the second half, Newcastle started strongly with Trippier attempting a driven strike that was blocked by Burnley’s Jordan Beyer. Burnley manager Vincent Kompany made a double substitution to try and change the game’s momentum, but it had little effect on Newcastle’s dominance.

Newcastle finally sealed the victory in the 76th minute when Isak converted a penalty, awarded after Ameen Al-Dakhil fouled Anthony Gordon. Isak’s goal secured the three points for Newcastle, capping off a successful week that included an 8-0 win over Sheffield United and a Carabao Cup victory against Manchester City.

With the win, Newcastle climbed to eighth place in the Premier League table, while winless Burnley remained in the relegation zone with just one point. The victory extended Newcastle’s unbeaten streak against Burnley to seven games, highlighting their dominance in home fixtures against the Clarets.
