FC Barcelona vice-president Rafa Yuste confirmed that head coach Xavi has decided to remain with the team.
Yuste stressed that Xavi loves the Blaugrana very much and continues to do his job with enthusiasm, as he is a true fan of the club. He also noted that Barcelona’s sporting director Deco has become a new 100% trusting head coach.

Xavi announced earlier this year that he would leave Barcelona at the end of the current season. However, this week it became known that the 44-year-old specialist met with the president of the Catalan club Joan Laporta, his deputies and Deco to discuss the current situation and the terms of the contract extension.
Xavi has led Barcelona since November 2021. In 2023, the club under his leadership won the Spanish Championship and the country’s Super Cup.
